Services
Advancing regional climate science through applied research, collaborative projects, and peer-reviewed methodologies.
Our Approach
Our research combines state-of-the-art climate modeling techniques with deep regional expertise in Central European climate dynamics. We focus on bridging the gap between global climate projections and local-scale impacts that matter most to communities and businesses.
We collaborate with universities, national meteorological services, and European research networks to ensure our methods reflect the latest advances in climate science while remaining grounded in practical applicability.
Current Projects
Developing updated intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) curves for Slovak regions using advanced statistical methods and long-term precipitation records. These curves are essential for infrastructure design, flood risk management, and stormwater planning under changing climate conditions.
Utilizing satellite-derived land surface temperature (LST) data to map urban heat islands and assess thermal comfort across Central European cities. This research supports urban planning and public health interventions during extreme heat events.
Generating high-resolution downscaled climate projections for Central Europe under multiple emission scenarios (RCP/SSP). Our projections provide decision-makers with locally relevant data on temperature, precipitation, and extreme weather trends through the end of the century.
Publications
Our team regularly publishes in peer-reviewed journals and contributes to international scientific conferences. We believe that open dissemination of research findings is essential for advancing collective climate action.
Milan Onderka, our lead researcher, is the author of a comprehensive book on regional climatology and hydrology that has become a reference text for students and practitioners across Central Europe. His work synthesizes decades of research on precipitation patterns, extreme events, and their implications for water resources management.
What We Do
We create educational programs, workshops, and presentations for municipalities, schools, and the general public.
Our specialists provide expert interpretation of scientific data, model outputs, and climate scenarios.
We work closely with partners from the public and private sectors to address the societal challenges of climate change.
We conduct research in climatology, hydrology, data science, and modeling — including climate impact analysis and dataset development.
We welcome research partnerships with academic institutions, government agencies, and industry partners.
