Science and data
for resilient regions.

Data and science-based analyses for climate resilience. We process and analyse climate and hydrological data, build bias-corrected and downscaled climate change scenarios, and carry out hydroclimatological modelling. We deliver results as data, applications and expert materials for projects, adaptation strategies and reporting – for local governments, spatial planning, architects, agriculture, water management, the non-profit sector, insurance and business.

Because mitigation and adaptation are always cheaper than repairing the damage caused by climate change.

The Rising Cost of Climate Inaction

The data speaks clearly. Every euro invested in climate resilience today saves 2 to 10 euros in future damage recovery.

From Data to Decisions.

We connect climatology, hydrology, Earth observation, GIS and data science. From scientifically verified data we create localised analyses, models and practical tools that help the public and private sector plan adaptation, manage climate risks and make informed decisions.

01

Climate Analyses and Climate Change Scenarios

We analyse the current climate, its long-term development and possible changes towards the mid- and end of the century. We work with ensembles of the latest global CMIP6 climate models and SSP scenarios. We bias-correct the scenarios for systematic deviation.

02

Climate Extremes and Climate Risks

We assess how the intensity, frequency and spatial distribution of hazards that pose a risk to population, infrastructure, ecosystems and economic activity are changing. Our portfolio includes extreme precipitation and runoff, drought, fire risk, urban heat islands and bioclimatic risks.

03

Drought, Evapotranspiration and Water Balance

We comprehensively assess water availability across the landscape and how it changes over time – from meteorological drought through soil moisture to vegetation stress. We combine climate, hydrological, soil and satellite data.

04

Hydrological Analyses and Modelling

We connect climate and hydrological data with process modelling in river basins. We prepare outputs for assessing runoff, water availability, flood risk, adaptation measures and water resource management.

05

Satellite Monitoring and Earth Observation

From satellite data we create time series and spatial products that allow monitoring the landscape at high spatial resolution. We mainly work with Sentinel, Landsat, ESA and NASA data.

06

Floods, Flash Rainfall and Erosion Risk

We identify areas prone to rapid surface runoff, local flooding and water erosion, and assess the impact of a changing precipitation regime.

07

GIS, Spatial Analyses and Climate Mapping

We combine climate, hydrological, satellite, soil, topographic and socio-economic data into unified spatial analyses. GIS and spatial analysis are core areas of expertise at RegioClim.

08

Climate Resilience of Cities, Landscapes and Infrastructure

We turn climate data into concrete information about where, what and on what time horizon a climate risk is present. Our analyses can support urban and regional adaptation strategies, spatial planning, investment decisions and the design of adaptation measures.

09

Agroclimatic and Environmental Analyses

We assess the relationship between climate, water, soil and vegetation for the needs of agriculture, forestry, nature conservation and landscape management.

10

Data Products, Models and Applications

We don’t have to hand the client only a report. The output can be a ready-made dataset, GIS layer, model, interactive map, dashboard or application. The goal is to connect data, models and practical applications for both strategic and operational decision-making.

11

Climate Risk Management and Business Materials

We connect localised climate data with what is exposed to risk in a specific area. Such analyses are useful for companies, investors, insurers, banks, infrastructure owners and the public sector – for example when assessing floods, drought, fires or infrastructure damage and related insurance and credit risks.

12

Expert Materials, Strategies, Projects and Reporting

We prepare results to be directly usable in practice – not just as scientific analysis, but as expert material to support a decision or project.
